I was driving home for lunch (it's a 1.5 mile drive) and I saw THIS on my way. So, naturally I pulled over and took some pictures of it.

Side note, I need to post some pictures I took this weekend, and write up about them as well. Saw a few vehicles that you don't come across everyday.

I can't hate. I first learned to drive in an '85, and drove an '88 for years.

That's my car. :) I have cars chase me down, hang out in my blind spot, stop on the side of the road or just follow me to get a pic of my RallyFighter. It gets crazy attention.

This was actually your car? Do you live in Tucson?
The RF is such an awesome project and seeing what Local Motors continues to do is great. Did you participate in the build yourself?
And yeah I understand the take pictures part, but my pictures were either when I was stopped at a light waiting to turn or after I turned when I parked and ran to the curb (I had seen others parked outside of LM when I drive back and forth between Tucson and Phoenix, but never on the street).

Also. I added you as an author here (Oppositelock.jalopnik.com) in case you'd like to stick around these parts. How'd you find this post?

Yup, that's mine. I live in Las Vegas but have driven back and forth a few times visiting family and LM factory. I did participate in the built, started with the bare tub chassis and 5 days later fired it up. It was also on display at this years SEMA show up in a lift & with the suspension at full droop. I came across this post doing an image search on google.

It's a beautiful vehicle and I admire your taste in cars (not to mention buying them to drive them). I just returned from Vegas on Sunday after going up to see a concert and hang out with some friends. Kudos on wrenching your way to completion, that had to be an amazing experience.
Also, that is some serious suspension travel.

Wow, sweet ride!! I have to ask, what is it like riding in that beast? I have always imagined that something built "Baja Tough" with the enormous amounts of suspension travel would actually be pretty comfortable. Lots of room for wheel travel and suspension action to keep it all in check. Is it pretty progressive, or just full race from the get go?

Driving my Rally Fighter is nothing short of awesome, especially off road. My suspension setup is very progressive. I've installed King triple bypass in the rear and up front are kings IBP (internal bypass) coil overs. The ride is ridiculously smooth even flying thru whoops 50+mph. On the street it just as much fun, throwing it around corners kicking the tail out, never slowing down for even the largest speed bumps. I've put over 4k miles on it in 4months and almost a quarter of that has been going thru the desert.
